On Adani and JKIA Deals:
“I am unfamiliar with the details of the Adani deal. I have no information about the JKIA takeover. I have not been briefed on the specifics of these agreements and cannot provide false information to Kenyans.”
On the Impeachment Motion:
“It is not a simple matter to impeach an elected leader, especially one who was chosen alongside the president. We must uphold the rule of law. As a member of the presidency, I was elected alongside the president.
With over 35 years of experience in public service, I have a deep understanding of governance. Those who believe that serving a single term as an MP is a disadvantage should recognize my previous experience in government and my familiarity with the corridors of power.

I do not believe that my challenges stem from my efforts to combat illicit brewing. I was genuinely committed to this cause, particularly in addressing the manufacturers of illicit brews. I had no general issue with alcohol consumption. However, I am surprised that some government officials have allowed some of the factories we closed to reopen.
It is unfortunate that some leaders from Mount Kenya are falsely accusing me of tribalism. They claim that I am fighting for the interests of Mount Kenya while also suggesting that I am not advocating for the development of this region. This is a contradictory and sarcastic statement.”
On Governor Mwangaza’s Impeachment:
“Regarding the impeachment of Governor Kawira Mwangaza, I have met with members of parliament from Meru County to help them resolve their differences.
If MPs have distanced themselves from me due to my lack of support for the impeachment, I am unaware of this.
I was not involved in the impeachment of Kawira Mwangaza at all. My preference was for a compromise between her and the county assembly members. I still maintain this view.”
On Matters in Meru:
“Even though Japheth Koome resigned, the people of Meru have been rewarded with the appointment of another local individual as Commissioner General of Prisons. This was a promise that has been fulfilled.
The designs for the Nithi Bridge are nearing completion. We will undertake a comprehensive reconstruction to ensure smooth travel. I understand that this was one of our promises to the people of Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties.”
